Privacy Policy – Owl Pod

Owl Pod is a video storytelling app that lets members record 30–90 second clips with prompts and view them later. This policy explains how we handle your data in the TestFlight beta.

What we collect

• Account data: email address and password for sign-in (handled via Cognito).
• Media you choose to record: video, audio, and prompt selections you make in the app.
• App diagnostics: crash logs, basic device metadata (OS version, app version), and upload status logs to improve reliability.

What we do not collect

• No precise location data.
• No advertising identifiers or third-party ad tracking.
• No contacts or photo library access beyond the media you explicitly capture in the app.

How we use the data

• To let you record, upload, store, and play back your stories.
• To operate, secure, and improve the app (e.g., diagnosing upload failures).
• To provide support when you contact us.

Sharing

• We do not sell your data.
• We store and process data with essential service providers (e.g., AWS for storage and authentication) to run the app.
• We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the security of the service.

Retention

Stories and related data are kept while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time.

Security

Media and API traffic are sent over HTTPS. Stored assets live in access-controlled buckets. No security can be perfect; we work to safeguard your data with reasonable technical and organizational measures.

Your choices

• Request access, correction, or deletion of your data by emailing us.
• If you stop using the app, you may ask us to remove your account and associated media.
